Dad surely isnt and when he gets in to something He is going to know ALL about it. So I know alot too. Anywho Bst of luck to ya and I will need some too.

For one, pellets are a big waste of money IMO. I don't think it's really more convenient to get pellets out rather than pouring some powder into a measure. Also, powerbelts aren't very tough bullets. They're going to perform best at lower velocities. Pushing them too fast is when guys have problems with 'shattering' their bullets. I use 130gr charges, and I shoot 250gr shockwaves without problems. It also sounds like you aren't planning on shooting very far. Not really a need to shoot more than 100gr when you're only shooting to 100yds.

Simple, they will start to come apart if you push them any harder.
80gr 3f T7 into a doe @ 80 yards through both shoulders. Recovery of the bullet shows me that i was pushing it a little to hard with the 3f T7.

You have just entered a very addictive sport.
I suggest you box everything up and send it to me to save yourself from all the expense and frustration you are about to experiance.
NO?
Well then I would say get a wide variety of stuff to shoot,Different powders, primers etc. Spend some time and see what she likes.Don't just watch the TV personalities and do what they do,they are selling products,Find out from shooters like the ones on here.
Like was said earlier.Develop a loading rutine and stick with it.
Mark you ram rod for an empty BBL and a Loaded one.
Always check the gun with the rod before loading/shooting.
Make sure to re mark if you change load and bullet combo.
Don't want to hear of any double loads.
Be just as diligant with you cleaning rutine.
Good luck and PM me for my address and I can save you from lots of fun and adventure.

Gonna try running 270 grain powerbelt with 100 grain triple 7. At least for an upcoming hunt.
Unfortunately I moved to South Carolina, where there is no place to hunt or even sight in a gun. Never heard of driving hour and a half just to get to a gun range.
Only other option is to pay to be a member of a gun club to use their range. Ever hear of having an open to public day, great way to get new members.
