Default Black Powder Bird Shot

Im looking into blackpowder rifles and see most are 50 cal. How would i shoot a bird shot or heavy turkey shot from one?? Thanks

I haven't seen anything for 50 cal shot wads before like there are for 12ga BP loads. Plus I'd guess the rifling would mess with your shot flight even if you tried it somehow. Now, there are some combo guns that come with both 50cal and 12ga barrels.

Get a smoothbore musket, or shotgun. Shooting bird shot across rifling does not provide a consistent pattern and it is hard on the rifling of the barrel.
