Default Vari-Flame and TC Triumph problems

Last yr I was shooting BlackMag3 and still getting a crud ring (using kleanbore primers and TC super glide sabots), so I ordered the Vari-flame conversion to try and eliminate the crud ring..

I also picked up a 1,000 Winchester AND CCI small rifle primers (long story short - wanted CCI's couldnt find them at a gunshow and I panicked and got the winchesters THEN found the CCI's)..

SO - today I am out today sighting in my ML and this is what I found

1) CCI Small Rifle primers do not fit the vari-flame 'carrier'

2) The vari-flame 'carrier' is too long to allow the Triumph action to close and lock.. So in actuality #1 is irrelevent..

3) Even the MMP 3petal EZload sabots were tight in my gun..

The good news is i picked up some of the Remington SST primers and they work well..

Also my bore sighting ability sucks.. I was 8" high and 8" to the right @ 50 yrds- BUT getting pretty good groups.. I am now 2" high and about 1" to the left at 50 yds.. Im happy for now

any suggestions on how to get the the vari-flame to work? OR anyone want to buy it?

I can comment on #1. The CCI #400 small rifle primers fit in the Vari-flame adapters that I have.

I think I found my problem on that - I went online and watched a video of how to install the primers and I was not being 'forceful' enough.. I was just trying to push them in, in the video he is banging on them.. I was also doing this on the tailgate of the truck, on a slope - not the ideal conditions LOL

Out of all the adapters that came with the kit, I did actually manage to get 1 of them in the gun and get it locked closed.. I emailed the place i bought them and asked.

thanks

The Vari-flame adapters I bought went into the garbage can after a number of futile tries in my Mustang and my brother-in-law's Knight.

Maybe some steel wool would slick 'em up enough to fit.

They are too long, not too wide.. lol The gun will barely close (on most of the adapters) but I can not get it to latch..

I emailed where I bought them and he asked that I call him to discuss, so I will do that soon.. I will see what happens..

thanks
