Low recoil and plenty of speed.
 

Dave made another great bullet. His primary concern was for women and children and men that don't like recoil. He made a 150grn bullet with the same controlled fragmenting as the all Brass Lehigh bullets. Not only are they very accurate, they are cheap. Right around $30.00 bucks delivered for 100 bullets. As Sabotloader pointed out more then XTP'S. He's right but this is a ML bullet not a pistol bullet.:p Now that i tested these bullets, he will make more and send them out to be copper plated to stop corrosion. Obviously the steel would rust the way they are now.







After that i shot the max the ML would burn. Here is 155grns of BH209 thru the chrono.

How did the bullet do with low powder charges? I like the idea of a low recoil bullet for those that need it. But that kind of powder your shooting would hardly be low recoil. Good concept though.

Ran a ballistic sheet for your load... Up here I wil not get that velocity - so that will effect energy quickly. But for your load this is what it looks like....

So the next question would be... If these 150 grain steel bullets work like the Brass Lehighs - why not make the 200's, 250's, 277's from steel coat them with copper and sell them a greatly reduced price, after all we are just looking for a bullet that works better than average in our minds. Wait he can not do that as steel is lighter than brass so their weight would be reduced some what to stay in the length guidelines - but still... a lot less money

At the muzzle energy is pretty comparable...

Sabotloader, i asked that very question myself. The steel is to light and the bullets would be way to long. The Brass is heavier.

Looks like a good bullet to 125 yards for sure. Most kids and women aren't shooting that far anyway. Thanks for the ballistics.

130grns Dave was the lowest i shot. Very little recoil. Next weekend i will shoot them out of a 50cal and see how low i can shoot them. I think 100grns will still be 2000fps.

Yes but, you have to think that most people will shoot them with significantly less powder than you shoot anything with. Very few will come close to your velocity - if they are buying them as:

You shot pellets!!! I mean you only shot 2 pellets!!! No I guess I was right the first time "you shot pellets???????" Then probably your were shooting Pyro Pellets.... WOW!

Strictly 777 pellets. I tried three one time with no luck. Two pellets and a Knight Extreme shot lots of Deer in PA and NY. Now that i think about it, i might of started with Pyrodex pellets. I started shooting Inlines in 1999 or 2000. Was 777 even out yet?
