Perhaps someday I'll have the time to actually construct stands. Right now I'm lucky if I can get my bowstands up before season, this year I am limited to the one I put up 2 years ago and the one from last year, which are still out there. Hopefully not stolen from private land.
I wanted to get an elevated stand up for bow/gun season near my new honeyhole but time did not cooperate as usual.
My ideal stand would be to get an old axle from somewhere and make a trailer where I can pull it in wherever I want in the field, unhook it and put down a jack on each corner. The stand would lay down horizontal, and I'd simple crank a winch to rotate it 90 degrees into a vertical position where it would lock (and potentially bolt on a brace or two). Then I'd have one high-quality stand I could easily move around from year to year with just my pickup.
