Finally did it. Good deal?
After a few years of debating if I wanted to get into muzzleloading I finally pulled the trigger so to speak. I think it was a good deal.
Went to the pawn shop yesterday just to check out what they had, and came away with a T/C Black diamond. It looked good at the shop, but when I got it home and pulled the plug it looks like it was never even shot. Not a mark on the rifle anywhere. Came with all the paperwork, various tools, all three nipples, and I even got them to throw in a sling.....all for $100.
It is the shorter barrel model, but I will be using it more for hunting than for range shooting and rarely have a shot over 100 yards anyways so I don't mind the loss of a little range and will appreciate the lighter weight.
SO....another new (ML)shooter with more dumb questions

If you got the Black Diamond that is the shorter model, the Black Diamond XR is the longer model. Cayugad one of forum members has a Black Diamond and has tons of experinace with one. He is a fountain on information and can help you abunch if you have questions.

If it shoots as good as you claim it looks you got a great deal. I was like you but, I waited a hell of a lot longer than a few years to see the light....I've been deer hunting roughly 25 years and I got my first muzzleloader 2 years ago and have taken four deer with it. I bought my second one Spring of "08". Should have started a long time ago. I'll probably never buy another shotgun slug.
