T/C Weather Shield Problem SOLVED
#1
I just got finished putting all the final touches on a T/C Triumph that I bought this past winter. It got to the point where I took my rear sight off and realized that some of the Weather Shield was peeling off underneath where the sight originally was. Didn't know if this was normal so I emailed T/C and they said to send it in. Itook the barrel off and sent it out on Saturday(should be there by Monday). 1.) Has anyone had any similar problems with Weather Shield? 2.) Has anyone had T/C do work onone of their guns? 3.)How long should Iexpect to wait until it comes back?

I sent mine back and wish i would not of. They replaced the barrel. The barrel was a tack driver at 200yards. Since you didn't shoot yours i would of probably done the same thing.

I have had a lot of problems with my Encore, but have to give T/C high marks on customer service. I have sent in three barrels and got them backin a short amount of time.

Is this weather shield more like a paint then a baked on finish, or what?
A friend was over the the house a while back shooting a fully camo CVA I believe it was (or a traditions) and he had spots missing off his barrel as well. I do not own a camo barrel weapon, nor one with weather shield. BUT I do own a nickel barrel CVA and that barrel stains.

From what I watchd on TV, it is a process where a plastic (not sure) film lays on top of a solution and the barrel or part is dunked into it and the stuff adheres to it. It adheres to metal, but not itself.
I don't think itpeals off, but I have seen spots where it is missing on barrels. On all the guns that I have fully camoed, I have not experienced any problems with it. But I am sure that after a while ofheavy feild work and hunting, I am sure it will come off in spots.

Sent the barrel out on a Saturday so it would arrive to TC on a Monday and got the barrel back on a Friday the same week. They sent me a brand new one complete with ramrod, sights and breach plug. I guess this put TC to the test for me and they came out with flying colors!
