And even after all of this is rehashedover and over again, itstill boils down to whether or not you feel confident and safe shooting a CVA rifle or not. If you feel they are inferior I strongly suggest you choose a brand you are confident in. If you feel they are safe, then you have a different brand to consider when you purchase a rifle. I own a CVA Staghorn Magnum, and technically the Remington Genesis is from the same factory I think. I shoot them, so I guess I am confident in them. All of them have had magnum loads shot through them.

I also own several traditional rifles owned by CVA and Traditions. They all shoot well.

Yea I'm not scared to shoot either of my two CVA's. I'm shooting one of them this weekend.

Idon't loose anysleep worrying about shooting my CVA Wolf. But I know 4 deer so far thats lost some sleep.....

I'm not worried about shooting my CVA at all. Randy Wakeman has had a personal agenda against CVA going for a long time now. To say that he is highly biased is a gross understatement. So take everything I read from him with a grain of salt.

I also find it VERY interesting that there is no mention anywhere of what loads were used in these guns when they exploded. I wonder if some or most of these failures could have been caused by overloading the rifles to past the manufacturer's specs, loading a double charge, or some other error.

I just don't go over what CVA recommends in terms of powder charge and have no worries.

There is no product in the world that cannot be made cheaper by adopting a lesser standard of quality in material and workmanship and then selling it for a more competitive price. Kid's back packs and shoes come to mind. Those who only look at the bottom line are prey to those who cut corners. Where safety is concerned a higer standard should be the law. Look up the Ross rifle ofWW1 vintage. It was made the standard issue rifle of the Canadian army. Ross had connections in high places and so got around the oversight issues. These abominations killed and maimed a large number of our soldiers by failing at the breach and blowing the bolt back into the face of the poor man holding it. They did not all fail nor did any fail on the first use, but in combat guns receive significant use in a short time. The "mine hasn't failed yet" endorsement doesn't hold a lot of water IMHO.

In all fairness to Randy Wakeman, while he does seem to have a vendetta of sortsagainst CVA, he makes no bones about it. He also claims he is doing this because of the accidents that have occurred with BPI firearms and he does not wish to see others injured. I can respect that actually. Now I can not look into his heart and tell you this is the real reason. Is it also for fame and even somewhat monetary gains, I just don't know? Never met the man. But there is nowa web site where a number of court cases are discussed and what happened, such as rifle make, load used, etc. Some of the cases are interesting to say the least. You can take the information presented any way you like. But as I said, some of the court cases they discuss do make you wonder.

I didn't start this topic with any underlying CVA feeling. It was sent to me in an email and while its an old pic(have seen before) I always am amazed as how anything can go wrong at anytime.
That gun could have been any as far as I am concerned with todays cut corners where possible to save money. Eye protection should be a staple with any of us who shoot. If you don't wear them maybe this pick would change someones mind.
