ML Hunt

Move to Missouri, we get 2 turkeys in spring (TK2000), 2 deer during archery (w/unlimited doe tags) with 2 turkeys, 2 regular firearm deer which can carry into muzzy season,2 turkeys in fall (TK2000).Then you can apply for a management hunt on DNR land for up to 4 deer in some areas, here we do have a point system similar to yours. You can't find enough time to hunt it all. I'm sure California is full of game, the problem is all that @*%# legislation that prevents you from doing what you love which really sucks.

I hitchiked across country when I was 16 and spent the weekend in West Virginia. Very beautiful state. I grew up in upstate western ny and the hunting there was very hunter friendly. No zones, doe tags good season, all the extended hunts.........the good ole days.

In Georgia we have 10 doe and 2 antlered buck limit. The season begins with archery in september followed by 1 week of primitive weapons leading into the regular gun season which ends January 1 in most areas. When hunting scheduled managedhunts on wildlife management areas the harvest does not count against our harvest record.

Sorry to hear that. I hunt in Ohio and we can take only 1 buck per year, but 3 - 6 does depending on what season they are taken in. They seem to keep increasing the # you can take every couple of years because of the deer overpopulation problem.

NY still has a very liberal season:
With a Sportman's License you get...
Archery/ML tag (either sex)
Archery/ML tag (antlerless)
Regular season buck tag (can use your ML during regular (gun) season
Possible antlerless tag (depending on zone/preference points/luck)
On Long Island if you shoot a doe and check it in at the station they will give you an either/or tag. You can do this over and over during the month of January.
Then, of course, there are two fall turkey tags, two spring turkey tags, bear tags, small game license and fishing license.
About $65 for a resident.
