could anyone help me with the value of this gun
Early 20th Century Sear and Roebuck Reproduction Black Powder, 50 Caliber Rifle. Excellent Condition, Stock may have been refinished at some point. Minor damage to Finish of bolt. Includes original Ramrod, also features brass trim, brass lidded compartment in stock. 45 inches long altogether. Etching on Barrel Reads: "Hawken Rifle Model 292 51779 50 CAL Black Powder Only Sears Roebuck And Co. Chicago Il Made in Japan, Miroku, 3628." Excellent Condition for its age.

Miroku Corporation has been making firearms for a long time. In fact they make the rifles for Browning. After Browning left Belgium. Miroku was said to have made some real good muzzleloaders. As for placing a value on an old Sear & Robuck Hawkins.. at the time they were sold, I am sure they were not very expensive. It also depends on how motovated the seller is, or the buyer is. I would only have to guess at its value. But $150-$200 might be fair.
