Kentucky elk draw
 
Anybody else put in for the kentucky elk draw this year.They allow muzzleloaders.They are gonna let 1000 of them go this year.

I would bring two or three of them with me anyway.Then use the pro hunter as a last resort for long range.Would be neat with a ball and patch.

We actually have a number of small elk herds,in Wisconsin. There are close to, or over 400 elk currently in the Chequamegon Nicole National Forest.

Our Department of Natural Resources never gives out true numbers on anything they count. They lie about the deer herd numbers, the number of timber wolves, bear, you name it, and they will lie to you about it. Some day I am sure all of the big shots in our State will magically get all the permits for the first hunting of our elk herd.

Gotbuckit only cost 10 dollars to get in the drawing that's it.They put them therea number of years ago and they are doing really good there,mild winters and plenty of food.Last year i found out to late.They only allowed 400 last year.

Only rule with the muzzleloader is 50 cal. or bigger

Read yesterday that the herd is estimated at over 10000, mostly in southeastern & southcentral Kentucky. Population has grown much faster than anticipated. They stopped bringing in new elk for release several years earlier than planned due partly to the fast herd growth & partly due to CWD importation concerns.
