made me a round ball target today
 

With the season over almost a month ago I thought I would be through the withdrawals but unfortunately that isn't the case.
I am tired of punching paper so I made myself a round ball target today. We'll see how long it takes to get accurate at 25 and 50 yards. i plan on using my 54 cal. Lyman GPR 1:60 and my 50 cal. T/C Hawken with the Green Mountain barrel 1:70 twist. I know all you wood workers will groan and flinch when you see my handi-work but I hate building stuff unless it is a necessity.

We used to do that ... shoot the double bit axe, split the ball, and hit targets on both side of the blade. We never did it at 50 yards though. 25 was hard enough.

Yea I know,I'll probably have a hard time even hitting it at 25., but it will give me something to do til I either do it consistently or get frustrated enough and just give up. Either way it will break the monotony and create a challenge. Man I wish September would get here. I may have to go spring turkey hunting if all else fails

I'd sure hate to hurt that nice handle. Handles come dear around here.

At Rendezvous we used to play a game with tomahawks called handles. And you draw a card to see who goes first. He throws and sticks, and then everyone else tried to split his handle. The more hawks in the pan, the more dangerous it gets.

Something else to shoot at (especially if you have snow).. take some charcoal briquettes, and string, tie them up, and hang them in the woods at different distances. When you hit them with a roundball they explode into black dust powder. Really fun.

That is a very interesting target with a pistol, it will attract a lot of attention at a demonstration shoot. Lee

Can't golf so use the tees. Drill a bunch od hole in a cross bar and nail the cross bar t an upright. Put ehhgs on those tees to shoot. That is fun.

that sounds like a good idea. I thought about filling water balloons with flour also. keep them ideas a coming:D

Boy great minds must think alike. I thought the same as a lot of you. There goes a new axe handle.
That golf tee idea sounds good buts lets make it even harder. How about just punching them into a piece of cardboard and shooting at the heads? Now there is a challenge.
