Email Veral Smith of LBT Molds and tell him you want a .451 330gr smooth sided LFN and you will never be sorry. they shot like magic and will kill better than any condom wraped Bullet out there. I use the short harvester or the knight black sabot.

Do you cast those LFNs hard or soft Screwbolts? I shot hard cast WFNs out of my .41 Mag Blackhawk and they were terrible on boiler room shots - deer ran and ran. It was either break them down with a shoulder shot (which I don't like) or plan on a tracking job.

I am actually casting them hard,(water dropped WW) and shooting them @ 1500 fps. (80gr Volumetric, BH209) Two of the deer harvested last year just stood there after the shot for a second or two, then panic set in and they walked/ ran /stumbled 10 to 15 yards and fell. Third deer actually was hit way to far back running, broke both hips, went down sliding, regained its feet and left a blood trail Ray Charles could follow, after reloading next shot was @ 115 yards at Slow moving deer, entered just behind the ribs, came out opposite front shoulder, dropped there.

I shot "Lazer Cast 300gr 452 bullets in my Knight with Knight sabots. If you want penetration you can't beat a hard cast lead bullet. The ones I hard miked at .4525It was a little hard to load but the Harvester crush rib should be ideal.

In my view, big fat heavy slowconicals should be soft leadunless you're looking for a bone breaking load. I don't expect to have to stop a charging bear or Cape Buffalo - so I go with pure soft lead.

Semi, what I'm looking for is a accurate,HARD hitting bullet to take down an elk, deer, bear,or mother-in-law, you know a good all around bullet.
As I'm sure you know here in Co. we can't use sabots
