cayugad,
The Hipoint works well, it lacks the frilly looks of the expensive ones, but if kept clean, it works well. The gun has good fiber optic sights and I found that it shoots winchester well but jams on cci. Other than that, can't beat it for the money, and at some point, I would love to pick up another, perhaps in the caliber you are looking at.

I only have three rifles that aren't muzzleloaders... and really don't know why I still have those.
Ruger 77/22
Rem 700 DBM 6mm Rem
Tikka .270 Win
Haven't shot any of those for a very long time. I've literally owned a few hundred rifles/shotguns in the past. There are a handful that I regret parting with but I'm glad I didn't keep ALL of them.

BLASPHAMY I SAY. I knew it. I just knew it. The truth finally comes out. Semisane is secretely working undercover for Obama. He just wants to know how many guns you have so he can get them all confiscated.
I'll just tell you I have a bunch. From the tiny 22 lr to the 45-70 and many calibers in between. My favorites however are the oldies. My 45-70 and my 405 Win. I'll gladly give them up. Bullets first of course.

Since you can't deer hunt in Illinois with a center fire "yet" the only one I own is a Winchester post 1964 30-30 lever action. I wouldn't have it if it wasn't for getting it in a group of firearms from my uncles estate.
other thanthat I have;
Remington 597 17HMR with a wooden laminate stock
Remington Speedmaster 552 .22 wooden stock
Old Marlin 39A Golden lever action .22.
More shotguns from .410 on up to 12 gauge than anything else plus a couple of handguns.
Some day just for the fun of it I'd like to get a .243. 22-250, or a .223 just for giggles and grins.
