This is the last week of the season. It ends Saturday and my wife done went and got herself a Holstein, so I have to go and pick it up Saturday. I had high hopes to use the last 2 tags this week but so far here is what has happened. Monday. Fix tires on stock trailer, so i can get her cow. Today change oil in van and other "STUFF"( not fun outside in -20 weather) so I can take one of the kids to Rapid City to get her cast cut off. ( she won't let me do it). Wed, Go to rapid City and Sturgis. That takes a whole day. Thursday cut wood. SO hopefully I will get to go out Friday and at least fill one tag. Then it's off to get the Holstein. But I guess it's only fair. She bought a cow with her share of the income tax and I bought a Hawken. Guess I can't complain. I just hate the long wait between Feb and Oct.for deer season to start again. One last day is a must!!!
Then it's paper shooting only, which is getting to be more fun than ever. ( I must be losing it )

It's good to hear that come from our Next State Neighbor! I did'nt think PA had any Does left! I remember going to PA for Opening Day to hunt and you'd see 300 deer a day, now we just about gave up on PA as all the deer have just about Vanished! Going from (Doe Day) the last two days of the season to being able to hunt does on opening day with a rifle and passing out the doe tags like candy really hurt PA's Deer Pop. We have Friends come to N.Y. for our Opening day just so they can see deer again. That's why we voted NO for rifles here in our county, we want to keep our deer herd the way it is. And Im not blameing it totally on the rifiles, mostly on all the doe tag's. At least PA has stayed Traitional, Flintlock only, if they were to allow inlines you'd really be in trouble!I see more and more hunters from PA now passing on Doe's and, hopefully it's not too late. It's nice too keep the deer herd in check, balance out the buck's and doe's, but I think PA went to far this time. Good for you! save them Doe's!!!!!!!!! Ron
