Default Got me another Renegade!

I won the big buck contest at work this year and I got an extra $150 dollars to spend. Found a renegade on gunbroker today 54 cal with 1:48 twist looked to be in really good shape. Has a simmons 3-9x scope on it to (camo finish on the scope kinda ugly). cant wait to get it and see how it does at the range.

Good deal. I'm beginning to look around for a 'winter project' now that the season is over. Some Renegades and Hawkens come out with some really pretty wood. I'm going to be fussy and try to find one with real nice grain and try to turn it into a showpiece. Getting one of these to shoot good is usually no problem.

Congratulations. One can never have to many smoke poles, especially when you can find a good deal. You still need to get a 54 cal.Lyman GPR though

I got to say I am hooked now. Until recently I was big into rifle and trap shooting, but I got to say Ive been missing out. No more inlines for me, and Im seriously thinking about letting a few rifles go so I can exspand my muzzleloading capacity. I was in wal-mart last night in buying ticking material and stayed up till darn near 2am cutting it into 1.5" x 36" strips! I got the bug

Why cut your pillow tick? Take a yard of it next time, and wash it, then line dry it. That removes all the sizing so your lube will stick better to the cloth. Then count off five stripes and tear off a strip 36" long.

I lay that over the muzzle, set the ball on it, and short starter it under the muzzle. THEN I cut the strip of cloth away from the barrel. Now I have a perfectly centered patch.
