RE: Genesis & Hornady FPB's
ORIGINAL: bronko22000 That reminds me, I sent an email to Traditions about that ring on the Genesis. I told them that they should bevel it to make loading easier. I never heard anything back. |

I think you might get two or three down the bore without swabbing but I did not try it. A lot would depend on the powder you shoot.

So are you shooting .44 caliber bullets in a .50 caliber rifle? How are you doing that? I'm a noob and have just always shot .50 caliber bullets in my muzzle loaders and figured that's what you had to do.

RE: Genesis & Hornady FPB's
That's what sabots are for.. .429/.430 to .50 sabots are made by MMP and Harvester and possibly others.
One thing that bugs me on the Genesis is the sharp step at the internal crown. If you can figure out a way to evenly bevel that crown into more of an angled cone, loading will be much easier. |

SWThomas, they aren't going to make the Genesis anymore?

RE: Genesis & Hornady FPB's
The Genesis from my understanding is no longer going to be produced. It a shame as it really so far in my limited experience has been a good rifle.

Sometimes I think that is a good reason to buy a product made by TC or CVA since that is their major niche. Remington must not have seen enough business from this line...which also seems odd, but I don't sit at the CEO desk for Remington so I don't make those top notch decisions. It is too bad, I sure like mine.
