Default Knight MK-85 Help

I purchased a Knight MK-85 predator and i want to set it up to shoot with large magnum primers. There are little brass inserts that the primer fits in and then that goes on the end of the breach plug..i am having a hard time finding some of the brass inserts or primer holders...just wondering if anyone out there can help me, atleast with the "real" name of the brass inserts? Thanks

You could always contact Knight Rifles and see if they can help you out or have options for changing over the ignition.

Brass inserts?? I have been around a bunch of MK85's(hundreds). I have never heard of a brass insert??

Did you buy the 209 conversion?? If you did then did you get the one with the plastic discs?? Or did you get the musket cap conversion??

Pictures would help. Tom.

Hey Bo, could you by any chance be thinking of the VariFlame Primer Adapter? If so, your gun has to be set up to take 209 primers. The VariFlame is the same size and shape as a regular 209 shotgun shell primer, but you load it withsmall rifle or small pistol primers. Check the link.

I have used a mk85 since they first came out. I started out with number 11 percussion caps, then to musket caps, then to using their 209 conversion kit. Now I'm back to musket caps since I can only use t7 in it and not blackhorn.I have never heard of what you are talking about unless its the thing I saw on the precision bullet website about using 25 cal primers in some set up. for hunting i much perfer musket caps with my triple 7. they are much much easier then putting one of those plastic inserts with the primer on the nipple in a rushed hunting situation for a second shot.rws musket caps work great and i have never had a misfire.

bo
Definetly take some pics, I have had MK-85's for years and never seen anything like your describing. I do have a original DISC rifle that has inserts you put in the orange discs to shoot #11 caps.
