Default Nikon Scope differences

What is the difference b/t Nikon Team Primos (which is last years Monarch) and the Nikon Omega??? The Primos is $50 cheaper and has the BDC. All I can see is slight differences in the specs. I'm wanting the best glass possible---DrAsus

Slight difference in the specs would probably be the key. I think the Omega has good eye relief. On a muzzlelaoder that is something you will find handy. The Omega is also set up for ballistics on what you might find with the muzzleloader velocity, I wonder what the other is set at.

I never was a fan of the BDC but a lot of people like them so they must have merit. What's the eye releif and over all length on the Team Primos?

Nikon has so many different models and names and variations and price points and gimmicks(like the BDC) that it is difficult to understand the differences in their lines. And they do not volunteer the differences for a person to make an educated decision.

Overall Nikon makes some pretty good lenses, and some decent scopes. The biggest problem with the Nikon scope is the erector system, and the scopes ability to track properly. Few people understand these erector systems(including myself), and a lot of shooters think that that just because the scope makes an audible click that it is not a friction adjustment elevator. And I do not like friction adjusted elevators. the trick is to find out what Nikons are friction, and which are not. Good Luck, Tom.
