Default All these powders...

...have got me thinking. True some are faster burning and yield higher velocities. Some are cleaning burning. Some just work the way they're supposed to. I think once my supply of T7 pellets, Pyrodex RS and T7 2f loose is gone , it'll be the last time they grace the inside of my powder locker. Goex 3f seem's to be very consistent although dirty, but I have to clean after shooting regardless of the powder. So,,,,Goex is my way forward (or backwards depending on your viewpoint) and my life will become a whole lot more simpler.

My sentiments exactly. Besides ever since I was a kid and smelled my first firecrackerI have loved the smell of black powder smoke. Cleanig is no big deal. They all need cleaning. Yes it does smell when you clean up but there are many nastier smells out there.

I'll always have FFg and FFFg and FFFFg around for my flinters. But for my percussions I will continue to use Pyrodex RS and P. Over the summer I am going to shoot off my can and half of T7 and not buy it again.

I love GOEX and shoot it more than any other. But heck, there are so many experiments to conduct with T7 FFFG, T7FFG, Pyrodex RS, Pyrodex P, and JSG, that I'vegot have some of them around. If only there was one other powder I could play with.

I converted from T7 to Swiss 3F 2 years ago. Heck I love the smoke and soot anyway. Don't mind the clean up a bit.

I dont have any problem with black pwd, my problem that I have to drive 45 miles to buy a can of it. No one locally sells it anymore.

Without doubt, black powder is a great powder. I use black powder for 90% of my shooting. BUT I still have a place for the other powders. Some of my rifles just plain shoot better with a sub then with real black powder. Still, I shoot for enjoyment. And that sometimes means playing with the other powders in rifles.

i also like GEOX 2F ,thats all i use.

some use 3F and say it burns cleaner but i read if you use it and shoot a lot, it will wear barrel out quicker than the 2f.

so, i stay with 2f,it works fine.

dave, did you ever find powder that you felt was better for say a HAWKINS 1-48 TWIST than the 2f /3f that most of us use.
