Come on man.... Don't just call the Encore a piece of junk and not give us any reasons why you feel that way....

I agree...come on rafsob....we need more fuel.

I keep looking for something wrong with my PH but still can't find it (ok...maybe a bit heavy to hump around the woods all day but I still do it)!

My problem with the Encore was a tight spot in about the same spot as someone else had. Mid way down the barrel. You could see it when I loaded and I could feel it. Sent it back to the company and they said nothing wrong with it. Sent it back to me and it was still their. I also had a problem with rust in the breech area. Also when I tried to put a smokeless barrel (.30-06) on it I could never get it to group. I tried every way get ti to group. You know all the weird tricks with the foreend, but to no avail. Ended up sending the barrel back twice and then the whole gun. they ended up sending me a neew barrel and it still did the same thing. I ended up seelling the gun with both barrels for a loss. but ya know I never looked back. Once bitten thing!!! :)

See now you made me boor a bunch of guys with this silly store. One that has been told at different times in the past.

I wasn't bored. I asked for the details. Thanks!

This is sort of what turned me off to Encores and break actions in general...if they are not accurate when you buy them, it's a LOT harder to accurize them.

Not a slam on all these guns, I know there are a lot of accurate ones and, when they work well, they work VERY well. But I also had a buddy who has been through all the available tricks and spend dozens of hours trying to fix his to no avail.

I agree. If you spend a good sum for a rifle, you expect it to need little to no work on your part to make it perform as advertized. I was very disappointed after owning the Contender. It did perform at or beyond expectations. I was very disappointed and did end up loosing money on this deal. I guess you live and learn in life.
