There's nothing better than seeing good blood and pulverized lung tissue at the point of the shot.

I have photos now of the entrance and exit wounds. The exit wound is impressive. I will post them as soon as I get time.

I was going to say, if you are having trouble finding him, I'm sure Ray Charles could give you a hand!

The good thing about a blood trail like that is that they are easy to follow if you need to track the deer. But with a blood trail like that, you seldom have to look far. Good job.

The only time I ever seen blood splatter like that was with a deer I shot with a Precision Rifle Dead Center .40cal bullet. Hit it just above the heart, double lung with a BIG exit wound low in the chest. Deer ran maybe 75 yards, and there was so much blood it looked like a scene from CSI.

nice exit. It reminds me a mule deer my brother in law shot with his .270 he had. Huge exit hole in the body cavity but through the hide, it was less than the size of a dime. As he was skinning i heard him say, Look at that exit! Size of a silver dollar. I went looking around for a blood trail and all i could find was a fine spray mist blown across the grass. Very hard to spot unless you had the right angle.

How can there be such a huge hole in the body cavity yet a tiny hole in the hide? I never could figure that one out.
