I was ordering some other stuff from them since they have their 10% off your total order promo going on today only for the 4th of July, and I almost ordered some BH209, but decided I need to shoot up the Pryodex I have first.

So if you get your order in today, the 4th, before 11:59pm, they will give you 10% off of your order. It doesn't show the discount online apparently, as it will be applied to your order manually after you place it.

Thank you for the heads up. There is a case of BH heading my way for 10% less.

I like it so well I store or got rid of the old plunger type rifles in which its not supposed to be used. Since I switched to BH I clean my guns at the range I use a 50 /50 mix of alcohol and Hoppes #9 its works quite well and it takes 6 or 7 minutes per gun I normally shoot more than one as I live in AR and the temperature here is often over a hundred which requires quite a bit of cooling time.
The only thing I considered a problem I fixed with a mod to the BP. If you use the standard BP then you need to keep a drill handy to get the carbon out of the BP flame channel between the primer seat and the touch hole every 10 or 12 shots and even with the flame channel opened up with a #21 drill and a Lehigh vent liner installed I have to clean it out with a drill when I clean the gun after shooting.

The greatest power ever devised! I gave away all my other powders and will only use Black Horn.

Shoot it all week with out cleaning my TC Omega once. And I swab once for every 28 shots. I love that I can keep it loaded all deer season without worrying about corrosion.

When I do clean it, it it sparkles like a mirror. No rust at all. And the breach plug comes out like a dream.

I love the fact that after you open the BH it will not deteriorate either.

I killed 10 ground hogs this year. 9 with my crossbow and one with the BP last night. Those 240 xtps really can make a hog flip.

Still haven't cleaned my gun...lol

3 things to know:

a)Make sure to clean all the oil out of the barrel before you load the powder. I use hoppes 9. and 2 dry patches. Then load BH (100 grains). Then your sabot. Then run a patch of light gun oil up to the tip of your load. You could leave your gun like that for months and not worry.

If you do not clean the oil out you will get a double fire or miss fire because BH is very sensitive to oil and will soak it up, causing ignition problems. Popping a cap and swabbing before loading is a quick way to get it ready in the field.

b)Use a shotgun primer to ignite

c) Clean the bp plug using a hand 1/8 drill bit. hand turn to get the crud out. then use solvent. Takes 3 minutes

As for primers and powder being shipped together under one hazmat fee... Not all places will do that. I think this entire hazmat issue is just a ploy to get more money.

In fact I had a huge argument with a store over this very thing. I was ordering two (20) tubes of #11 caps and wanted 20 pound of powder. Before the deal was set in stone, I had talked to the owner and he assured me, it would be one hazmat fee. Well the stuff came in the same package BUT they hit me with two hazmat fees. When I objected the owner basically said.. we never promised that we could do that and you can not ship those items back to us. So the fee stands.

I used to buy a lot of stuff from Powder Inc. Maybe I will have to take and talk to them. I am running shot of both powder and #11 caps.

I feel we're being ripped off too. I talked to the UPS guy, and he said there's no special handing, except it can't go on a plane.

I can understand with real BP, but not with modern powders.

Dang guys I'm sorry I bumped a 2008 thread. I'm not even sure how I got here unless I clicked on a link in the similar threads at the bottom. I didn't even look at the date and figured since I had it open, that it must be current. Once again, sorry guys.

Not a big deal. BH 209 threads are always current.

Except maybe the price. :(
