I think i read someplace along the line that you did take the rifle to a practicing gun smith for inspection. Is that correct? If you did would you consider this person reliable? Has the gun gone to a second qualified gun smith for verification?

Could you re-write what his visual inspection lead him to believe was the cause of the failure?

And by-the-way as Lee has said hang on to the gun until your have reached your chosen conclusion. And as an added thought get everything documented. Treat it just like any another serious accident.

yes I did take to gunsmith and yes I do consider him reliable myself,and everyone else I talked to in this area said he was the one I needed to talk to.yes the gun is here with me and will not be leaving until some mutual conclusion with CVA is reached.

The powerbelt was my bad thats what his brother said he thought he was shooting. Sorry for the mix-up

If it was me I would take pictures until I had some real good ones and get statements from two gunsmiths and then contact them and tell them to look at copies of what I had and that I wanted to talk to a rep of the company before I spent any money on a lawyer. Lee

Tommy, I'm curious about the scope and mounts. Had you recently installed those (in particular the bases) or had they been on there a long time? Also, what was your cleaning method normally (before this event)?

Has your hearing improved? I'm very glad you weren't injured more severely.

meant to also ask... do you still have the ramrod? I can't tell from those pictures.

scope was bushnell and mounts were factory both on gun new never had any problems with scope so never touched after setting, would clean gun at beginning of season,shoot two or three shots to check scope day before hunt,clean gun,then putin safe;then after dark (days hunting) would clean before putting back in gun safe,yes i still have ramrod but leave in safe because impact broke screw holding bracket and rod just hangs there
