    Default First deer taken with 250gr SST's!
    After a long day of hunting in the hills,I spotted this deer from a little over 1/2 a milehiding in a small nook in a stack of round haybales. It looked as if he had been using it as a hide-out since our 16 day general rifle season just concluded. Made a long stalk and closed the distance to 15 YARDS! I took the only shot he gave me facing straight at me, so I can't report much on bullet performance, it passed straight through and the deer dropped right where he stood.

    so I can't report much on bullet performance, it passed straight through and the deer dropped right where he stood.
    Actually that says a lot if it passed front to rear...

    Congrats...nice buck and a good story. The only thing that would have made it better, would have been if I had taken the buck instead.
