RE: CVA and scope issues

Hoyt,

I have the same gun and bullet combination. I too shot powerbelts at one time. Last year I shot 250gr. Shockwaves. The rifle shoots all of them fairly good.

This year I switched to the new350 gr. Hornaday FPB's. I shoot them with 2-50gr. pyrodex pellets and LOVE THEM. I also put a new Nikon 3x9 scope on it. It is amazingly accurate and simply a killing machine. Obviously I had to change the scope somewhat as the 350gr. is going to shoot differently than a 250 gr. sabot.

My only problem has been getting deer to show up in front of the gun.....if they do and are within 150 yards.....they are headed to the freezer! :D

Another problem I had was I let my teenage son use it once and now he is in love with it and wants to use it all the time. I loaded it and sent 1 speed loader with him his 1st trip with it. He killed 2 deer with 2 shots....do ya think he likes it? :) He killed a doe at 50 yards and 1 at 80 yards....hit them both square in the heart!
