They recommend using real (not muzzleloading) 209 primers for BH209.. so i dont think you can use it in a sidelock or flintlock

Liquidorange, the pressures run about 15% avaerage BELOW 777 in the loads tested so far.

A buddy of mine works at a local shop and I can get the 777 at dealer cost.
Hey Flybub, why not ask him if they can order some Blackhorn? It sure would be interesting to find out what the dealer cost of Blackhorn is.

[quote=SWThomas;3114697t. Also, can all propellents be used with Remington Kleanbore 209 primers? I.E. Triple7, Pyrodex, BH209, [/quote]

Yes . I have used the klenabore primer in my encore with Pyrodex and Bh209 . When testing the Klean bore primer against the winchester and cci they moved my Ramrod a 1'' farther every time i tried . Take a klean bore primer ( no powder ) and fire it in the dark , then a winchester and cci and watch the flame come outh the end of your barrel . Nothing weak about them !! Never tried them with pellets though ( not a pellet fan ) and i have only used them in my TC encore with Bh209 and My Encore and Traditions with Pyrodex , never had a hang fire or mis-fire . In this video he shows him testing many primers and The kleanbore primers did the same thing in his test . They were the hotest primer het tested !! Tons of good info on his videos !!

Think again. No one buys BH209 in one can and pay that price of $50. If you order it on line, buy in bulk and drive the price down.

Don't you know anyone that is in your local area, friend or buddy, that has some you can try? Are you in a hunt club? Ask around.

Now as to BH209, it is awesome and for real. I had a can at the range and didn't swab the barrel until after 25 shots. I only did it because I wanted to see if it made any difference in accuracy. It didn't!!! When I broke down the gun (Knight Vision) for cleaning and removed the breech plug, I ran my finger across the end of the plug and the powder soot wiped right off on to my finger. It cleaned up very easy.

Aside from the price, I love this powder. Just don't tell my Black Powder buddies. They would disown me for sure!!! ;)
