Without doubt, a muzzleloader is much more lethal then many of us, including myself, are able to make it do. Look at the old Civil war rifleslike theGibbs, Whitworths, and Sharps and the shots they were making with them.

I watched a show the other day called "Lock & Load" which traced the history of the rifle through the military. "Gunny" R.L. Emerywas the guest host and did the shooting. They were telling that the "Kentucky long rifle" was lethal in the right hands with ball, to 250 yards.. Now that is some good shooting for a roundball shooter.

I actually think there are some really good long distance shooters on this forum. With a good scope and the right load, some of the shots people are making is truly amazing to an old cap and ball person like me that used to think 75 yards was about it.. I am not a good off hand shooter, and I do not shoot or have the need to shoot long range. 125 yards and I am in some one's yard or hay field around here.

Chetmarks.. that is some excellent shooting. And you sure have some happy looking young people there with that buck. They look about as thrilled as you probably were when it fell over...
