Default Barnes Origonal +1

We don't hear much about this bullet on this forum, but over on the Savage forum there islarge following which I joined in on, because of accuracy, excellent expansion and shoot thru. Thought some would want to know about this bullet. Shot a doe with this bullet at about 50 yards, quarting away. Boom flop. The bullet was burried in the dirt on the off side, Barnes Origonal 300g, shot with Crushed Rib sabot with 67g of 4198, about 2350 fps. 281.0g. The Barnes Origonal is an excellent MLer bullet, it has a high BC and has excellent expansion.

unfortunately in the not so distance future we all may be shooting all copper bullets - or maybe shooting nothing at all.

I am asuming that that is not a boat tail -it looks like it has a cup in the base as does the Gold Dot... Does your camera have a close up setting like a picture of a flower on the dial - that might get a better pic for you.

Yes they are coming out with more lead stories of how if you eat the meat, it can effect you. Well after all the years of me eating game I shot, I am in deep problem.

That Barnes is a great bullet.

I agree with chap on the Barnes Originals. If you want a consistently accurate 300 gn bullet that's a deadly performer, it's as good as any.

No it is flat based. My camera is on my cell phone, so it is not of high quality. My son was telling me he has heard of a 500% tax on bullets, so picture 50 Noslers costing $60 + $300 on top of it by the anti-gun lobby, the effect is the same, you can keep your arms, but you can't buy bullets legally that are resonable priced.

As I understand the effect Cayugad, eating game shot with lead bullets may cause you to buy and exorbitant number of muzzle loaders.

HeyChap, I though the Barnes "originals" had a lead core. Are they all copper?

That is some serious speed out of a muzzy and the bullet held well. Imagine the KE force that doe felt. I like the Shockwaves but man this can sway me to try these.

I shoot the Semi-Spitzer, you need a Barnes bullet aligner or a TC SW bullet aligner for the Semi-spitzer. They are accurate well made, strong, shoot thru bullets.
