articap,
Right now, I do not believe I'm the proper owner of the scope and I should not be the personmaking the decision of who the scope should go to.
I think you have a great idea though:)
Sabotloader asked me to hang ontothe scopeand wait and see how this all pans out. I will let him decide where the scope goes.

Hopefully this will be resolved in the near future AND PRAYERS TO SAXMAN1 AND HIS DAUGHTER!

The mail man delivered my CVA back to me in excellent condition and in the original box.

ISP has not returned my calls but he did send the gun and I thank him for that.
There was no note or money.

ISP I'll pray for you and hope you are well
Thank you

I am grateful for that... but I am still miffed about the proceeds of the raffle.... returning the gun is a correct babystep... but the intent of the raffle was so much more...

You know Encoreman I think you are right about being the proper owner of that scope.!! I have a rifle setting down in my safe that just looks naked without a scope on it. But Its Dave's fault. I had to spend my $ on a new Genesis and then IT had to have a scope. Its a sorry situation for sure..[&o]

Saxman1,
That's good news, but I hope Ron doesn't stop there. He needs to follow through on the money he owes you from the raffle! I really wanted to believe in this guy and I hope he does the right thing!!!

bronko22000,
Congrats on the new Genesis, but you got it wrong....the scope isnot mine, if the raffle was a scam. I'm only holding onto the scope until this mess gets resolved. Ifit doesn't, then I can only come to the conclusion that this was a scam and sabotloader will gettinghis scope back.

Prayers to saxman1 and Kelly,

SAX - glad you got your rifle back. Encoreman - you are a honorable gentleman. I hope you know I was only joshing ya.
As for the raffle being a scam - I think ISP maybe had good intentions and then everything fell apart. He may be feeling guilty about not distributing the monies to Sax because he got into a bind himself and needed it. But I think if he would have explained the situation to Sax he may have saved face.
If he is reading any of this he should really post an apology on the forum and try to make things right.
After all God does not judge a man until after he is dead. We should do the same.

Well said
I held off a long time saying anything but I felt that with the way it was going that the folks here who donated money and products even when they themselves are probably having tough times deserved to know what was going on.

ISP
I hope you are well and life looks better for you and yours.
I understand how things can get out of hand.

Thanks for sending the gun back,I may have a buyer for it but now my daughter wants it.

bronko22000,
I did not know if you were joking or not, but I'm glad you were and I thank you foryour kind words.
I hope and pray ISP makes things right. I really liked the guy and I had hoped to meet him and his familysomeday.
It seems just like yesterday, he was in the limelight for being a good samaritan. Sabotloader was right when he said it wasn't a total train wreck or words close to that. He brought us all together for a very good cause indeed.

I guess we can still give him the benefit of the doubt for the MOMENT since he returned the rifle.

So, ISP, Saxman has offered you a carrot. You need to contact him with a plan on paying the money somehow, sometime. Even $10/week etc would be a start in the right direction.

Barring that, there is also a "stick". I checked with the Mail Fraud department at the U S post office, and she seemed to think that as it stands, this would definately be considered mail fraud. And ANYONE involved (anyone who sent him a check) could file a complaint. If a complaint is filed with the post office, they forward the info to the local cops for review as well as investigate it for mail fraud. Time to man up ISP. What is is going to be?

RE: Raffle for saxman / RIFLE DELIVERED

He backed out of a gun deal with me even before this all took place. It was a firm "I'll take it" as soon as his income tax refund came. Time dragged on and I offered to let him bow out of the deal gracefully but, no, he still definitely wanted the rifle. About a week later he came up with the story of the government seizing his tax refund for child support payments he had failed to make. OK, so I let that pass andlater sold the rifle to someone else for a little more money.

Then this happens along with a new excuse - and I give no credibility to the most recent "story". Others have spoken up suggesting they were also shafted by the man in their dealings with him.

There is NO benefit of the doubt to be given.

"he came up with the story of the government seizing his tax refund for child support payments he had failed to make"

Trying to buy a rifle for himself when he hadn't made child support payments? Guess that says it all.......

SuperKirby 11-21-2008 05:30 AM

RE: Raffle for saxman / RIFLE DELIVERED

Yep, but at this point can't help but wonder if they seized his refund or whatever, or if he just found something else he would have rather spent the money on and didn't figure there was another way to back out.

I guess for me it's a good reminder to "let your yes be yes' and your no's be no's" becuase you never know just how many people are really paying attention and who might find out about it.

Well I sent cash so?? I don't give a damn about the $20 except for the fact the guy it was meant for didn't get it. I'm kinda undecided about this all yet, is he a crook? or just on hard times? Who knows. I hope he makes it right but at this point I have my doubts. At least Saxman got his Kodiak back.

I suspect that he is probably continuing to monitor threads like this. I guess if I had sent in money, I would give it a couple of more weeks to see if he will contact Saxman and make arrangements.

If not, I would file a complaint. The website she directed me to as a first step for a complaint was:

Sorry this happened to you Saxman, but being in LE for over 15 yrs,I havedealt with bottom feeders likethis dirtbag. I have sat here and readall the post onthis thread and you can bet he has too. You can problably count this money gone. I would get with the Postal inpectors office, criminal division and file an officalcomplaint. This guy committed postal fraud and shouldtake responsibility for his actions. He should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law! But being the low life scum that he must be after pulling a scam on an innocent guy downon his luck, he won't!

Saxman1 I have a sceptical mind after dealing with low lifes for so long. I am glad that you got on thewire and let everyone know your situation on this matter. I have been deallingwith you for a shortwhile, but you strike me as a good guy. As if you didn't have enough on your plate, now this pops up and muddies your water. Hangin there pal and stay strong.

If there is anything I can do to help, please PM me.

Your friend,
Larry (rafsob)

Can someone post the link to file a complaint with the post office? Has anyone already followed through with that course?

I sent him a bank check, two as a matter of fact. Does that constitute mail fraud or does it have to be a postal money order?

Thanks

Tom

I just read this post and man it pisses me off! If i lived closer to him i would find him and kick his ass. This isthe reason why i usually do not give money to raffles. You never know where the money is going or if there was even a prize to be won in the 1st place. In the beginning i felt good about sending the money to help out someone in need. Now i feel like a chump for being taken.
Though Saxman felt the blunt of the raffle fraud we all got ripped off.
Sorry it happened to you saxman, it just plain sucks. Hang in there.

Corey, i am not saying you did not get the gun. I was just merely pointing out the reasons why i usually do not participate in raffles.
The fact that you won and recieved the gun is great. But the whole point to the raffle was to raise money for saxman. This did not happen. Basically ISP sold a 300.00 gun for 750.00.

sorry, man

I been upset about this (more guilty then anything). I not posted much on this subject. once I heard that he did not return scott's (saxman) rifle. I offered him the rifle a number of times. he is a lefty so I offered another rifle as well.

still feel bad. I was one of the few that sent money to lane. still does not help. still really bad about not meeting him when I was in FL. I'll have another chance in a few years.
