I've seen those charts before, and am a little suspicious of the data.
The second chart shows the 250 yard drop for the 340 grain Precision Rifle Dead Center as 20.25", andfor the 250 grain Barnes Spit Fire 23.75", andfor the 250 SST 24.75".That doesn't seem logical to me.
Other than the 340, all of the DC bullets are smaller in diameter than the non-DC bullets in the comparision. Also notice that there's not one mention of velocity in the comparisons, only that they were shot over 100 grains of powder. If you're going to compare trajectory it would seem you would want to assure all bullets start off at the same speed.
OK, go ahead and call me a cynic.

I am no expert on the matter either but semisane, you seem to have a point. As I understand it, from a Toby Bridges book no less, all bullets will drop the same distance in the first second of flight due to gravity. Theveloctiy at which the bullet makes it to the target is what makes the difference. So it would seem the main point of the test just shows the trajectory of the given bullets with the given powder charge but doesn't really speak to the bullet's true capabilty or show that one is better than the other at those distances. Does this make sense or am I rambling on?
