Dave tells me I am crazy - but I always worry about 91% alcohol down a hot ML barrel - and I know I am crazy but kinda like pouring gas on a fire... what if there were still some hot stuff down there.
I know a lot of people stick ther mounths over the barrel and blow in the barrel to push stuff back out the nipple - can not do that either and feel good about... .but a lot of people do...

I have swabbed the barrel with 91% and then held my finger over the end of the muzzle, capped the nipple and shook the rifle, then fired the cap in the dark. I've never got a blue flame out of one yet. BUT I will keep trying. Maybe lighter fluid..

You could try farting in the barrel if you are really wanting flames
. But I haven't tried that myself of course.
Water with some dish soap works great, doesn't the manufacurer recomend plain soap and water for cleaning T7? Rusty Duck works well too, and strangely it smells like windex.

Hammer49nope did not cause it. It's just the way it ends upo after shootig and swabbing. I have an nipple/flash hole pick I will work in and out in the field or on the range for short term.

Guys - how about that new stuff being advertised. I think its labeled by CVA and called Bore Blaster and is for black powder and substitutes. Apparently you can get it in foam or liquid form. The liquid you plug your barrel, and fill it up with the liquid, let it set for 5 mins and then pour it back into the bottle (it is reusable). You then swap the bore with patches until clean and apply protective oil.
Could be just the ticket for you in-line shooters. Me, I'll stick with the hot soapy water for my traditionals. Just thought I'd throw this out there.

T7, goex, pyrodex. To me it doesn't matter. 50/50 alcohol/windex and when you really think about it you dry patch afterwards so even water will do just fine. Might freeze on you in the winter though where the 50/50 won't.

The autoignition temperature ofIsopropyl alcohol is 750 degrees fahrenheit.
