Hey Guy's thanks for all your replys on using 50grs of powder in my 54, I will start out at that load and if the shoulder holds up I will increase it intill I feel some pain, then back off.I did go golfing yesterday and did 18, no pain at all. Of course we old farts at 74 are tough and ready to roll. I might even consider a few days of elk hunting that starts up in Oct, though I might use my 270 win.Mag for that hunt. Next year God willing I will take to the woods with the Gp 54. Always glad to get information from you all, One of, if not the best forums thatI belong to. I received replys to my question within 1/2 hour, seven the same day. thanks again.

duck; four layers of bath towel, if you are at the range laid over your shoulder will absorb a lot of recoil! My daughter uses it for her 20g shotgun and her .50 tc w/hunting loads. I use it when I am shooting in a t-shirt in hot weather w/full house loads!! Try itI takes the bite out!!
