I feel the same way about the KRB7. And, I gave up scotch a long time ago. :D

And, I gave up scotch a long time ago.
That is sooo sad. :( Everything in moderation - except buying shooting supplies. ;)

I recently purchested a New Prohunter and have only shot BlackHorn out of it. I wanted to break this gun in with one substitue powder. It was a toss up betweenT-7 or this new stuff(No Pellets won't use them and don't care to even try using them.) Well after 40 shots the gun has started to settle down and the grouping is impressive.I've narrowed my loads to 2 types of loads thus far.(1st.100gr. BH with a TMZ barnes 250gr.spitfire,W209 primer at a 100yrd.s) (2nd.120gr.BH with a Precision Dead Center 300gr. W209 primer at a 100yrds.) I do have other loads that I plan on testing. But this was my results with consistance cleaning after every shot....(I don't buy the it requires no cleaning between shots crap at all !) Consistancy is the key to accuracy.
"Well as soon as I can figure out how to reduce the files I wanna send I will...."

Hrly69, If you don't clean between shots it is much more consistent than cleaning. The barrel just stays the same. The only thing is the breech plug gets some buildup on the primer side. I shot 44 times without swabbing with 100 gr of BH. The last three shots were at 200 yards 1 & 1/8 inch group. Another time after shooting about 25 times I shot at 200. It was 1 1/2. Those are the only groups shot at 200. Both under moa. Pretty hard to get more consistent.

Boy I'm glad I don't shoot them new fangled inlines. I don't have to worry about paying $30+ for a canister of powder. I'll stick with good ol Goex and occasionally some Pyrodex P or RS.

Its bad enough you guys got me shooting saboted bullets out of some of my traditionals.
Don't tell anyone and we won't either. You will never be able tell the size of the hole is exactly the same.

1.5" at 200 is very impressive as is 1 and 1/8. Great shooting, very consistent powder. I like it too.

RE: Blackhorn Fever - I Think I'm Cured

:DI most certenly am cured. I went out and shot my 300 mag the other day shot after shot with no swabbing, there just wasn't much to clean up when I finished.Well all that brass to get ready to reload.
Now I am a gun fondler so I grabbed my Hawkens and ajug of T7. I shot about 15 shots with the Hawkins, swabbing between shots. At the house I filled a 2 gallon pail with 150F water and dollar store dish soap, stuck the nippless barrel in there and started pumping. After several pumps I dumped that water refilled with clean 150F water and no soap. After a few strokes and the water was still clean, I set the barrel aside to dry.
I cleaned up the stock, grabbed the barrel installed the clean nipple oiled the whole thing down with a light coat of Rem oil and I feel my need to fondle wasn'ttotally complete. I did resist grabbing the Remington 700 54 cal or any of the others however.

Well Lefse...shooting under MOA at 200 rds is quite impressive! I would love to see the video on this? I'm not saying this is impossible but out of a muzzle loader? This is quite an acheviment.I just believe that a foul barrel is a dirty barrel and honesty believe it cannot be as consistent as properly duplicated cleaning process. Your starting out with the same conditions from shot to shot with a clean barrel "when are you on a fouled barrel?" .I would think with your success thatif you did clean between shots you would be probly ranked one of the top long range Muzzle Loader marksmen in the country.(Or a real good spokesmen for BlackHorn.)

Hrly69,well you are wrong on this one. I have been shooting it since the second batch of trialBH 209was sent out I have tried swabbing with several different solutions and dry and it always shoots better with out. Also there are a number of us that are shooting the kind of groups he is talking about with Triumphs and Short Black Harvester sabots and 120 gr BH. I actually shot a better group with my Triumph than I have with my .223 or my .270 and I reload for them and have gotten good groups for years. I realize it hard to believe, but if you have to see it to believe it then try it, if you have the necessary skill it will work. Lee

harly69, I am to old to learn how to put pictures on here. If you send me your email address I will send you a picture of the 1 1/2 inch group. I just shot that one and it is still on the box. I don't have the 1 1/8 anymore. If anyone else wants to give me their address, I can send it to you if you want to put it on here. You can tell it is at 200 yards because it is 6 1/2 inches below the bullseye and the only holes in the target. There was a little breeze. The group was all horizontal. my address is [email protected]
