Default My first range session with BH209 and Knight LRH

Well i got to finally go shooting with LRH and Blackhorn 209. I almost used the whole can. There is no doubt, its greating just shooting and not swabbing the bore. I shot 40 times today , i did swab one time after 20 shots, everything loaded just the same the whole time.Cleanup at home still took me the same time. I imagine if i still had my encore cleanup time would be cut in half, but with this LRH , its a little more of a pain to clean even with BH209. I posted a few of my targets. I did get to try it at 200 yds for the first time. I wanted to ck out the claim of guaranteed 4" group at 200yds. I was just outside of that, but i know it was me, i couldnt get comfortable, theres no doubtthe guncan do it.

This is my other 200yd one with 250g barnes tmz with 110g BH209 9 SHOTS. Im really happy with the new burris scope with ballistic plex. I have it set to shoot 2" high at 50yds, dead on at 100 yds, and the 3 rd line is right on at 200yds if you can hold it still

Nice shooting. What did you use to clean your breech plug and bolt? That is what took the time with my knight disc elite.

i took a empty pill bottle and filled it with hoppes #9 and i drop the plug in it and shake it for awhile, then take it out and scrub it with a little wire brush, i repeat the step a few times. I also take a qtip and cut the cotton off the end after using it anduse that to ream out the whole where the primer goes, it fits nice, and then i use a nail to clean out the tiny hole of the breach plug. I just take the bolt apart and spray it with solvent and scrub it with a brush. I LOVE my LRH, but its a pain in the butt to clean. If blackhorn 209 came out before last year i would still be shooting the ENCORE, that would be a breeze to clean shootingblackhorn.

That is some pretty impressive shooting for 200 yards. If I can ever get to a place with that much open land I am going to have to try that.

Those groups are very good. I am sure with practice their accuracy claim would be possible. As you had to be very close to that now.

Nice shooting.

This is the first time i shot it at 200yds. I would never try to shoot a deer that far, and where i hunt there are no 200 yard shots. I just wanted to see what it would do. I was shooting that resting on a block of 4x4. Theres no doubt with a good rest and a steady shooter the gun could keep 4" or under at 200yds all day. I just dont have the steady hand, those close bull shots were just LUCK, at 200 yds it hard to even get the crosshairs in the triangle !!!

I've noticed that with my low power scopes that while they are a great aiming device, they almost cover an average target. I am sure that is what you were seeing. Still, good shooting.

great shooting... I had heck trying to shoot 150 for practice. 200 is just to far and I cant steady my rest for that far. But great shooting.. I was seeing 1 1/8th groups at 100 yards and 3inch at 150, but I know im pulling the shots out past 100 yards though

BH is some good stuff, just wish more came in the bottle LOL

i'm shooting nearly the same. expcet i'm using the burris sig select 3.5-10x40 and the 290gr tmz with 120gr. bh209. what primers are you using? i started with win209 and i hangfires all the time. the cc1209m caused no hangfire but i'm questioning how they effect the accuracy.
