Whether you can shoot a sabot accurate out of the rifle, only time will tell. Like most loads, start at 60 grains and work your load from there. Swab between shots but use pure isopropyl alcohol. Less chance of pushing the fowling over the fire channel opening, and it drys faster then water.

My son's 1 in 48" Traditions Deerhunter likes 90 grains of Pyrodex P and a TC Break-O-Way
sabot with a 240 grain lead hollow point.
You wantto impart higher RPM's onto that bullet... and of course I load it for him too.

They shot betterthan aKnight/MMP sabot and a TC 255 grain .45Maxi so we switched.
And it shoots to the same point of aim as a patched round ball plinking load
of only50 grains of powderat50 yards, so no sight adjustment was necessary.
TCalso sold thosesabots with an XTP bullet which I have sometubes of too.
The .430 bullets are interchangable.

I am going to give my New Englander a try this year but I am using 385 grain Hornady Great Plains conicals. They keep a good group for me at 50 yards with iron sights using 90 grains of RS. Iwould becurious to know if you get good results with any sabots though.

I shoot the T/C Maxi-Ball (not the Maxi-Hunter)conical and 90 grns blackpowder or Pyrodex RS in my .50 cal New Englander.
At 50 yds it will cloverleaf the slug holes.
I've deer hunted with itfor 20 yrs and it's accounted for nearing a100 deer.
I love my New Englander!

ive tried the 240 .430 xtp-s and greens sabots in my new englander and it wouldnt group. the 1-48 twist may be the problem but until you shoot i guess youll never know. im sticking with the 370 gr. maxi balls. 70 gr. pyrodex is an awesome combo for that gun.
