Out shooting the new Investarms with 21 " barrel, 60 gr. pyrodex and patched round ball

I guess I never thought I could do this but I was getting pretty excited about how good it was shooting for the first time

2" at fifty yds.

If you've never dry balled a ml'er then you haven't shot enough. I do alright when I'm by myself, but if i get to shooting with someone else, I get to talking too and soon enough I start wondering where I am in the loading process. I try to get off by myself on the firing line and keep to myself.

So far I've not dry balled one but I have unintentionally shot a squib load (powder no bullet). But I meant to do that, really, I did. :)

I hate that ball remover. I usually just remove the nipple and drop in a few grains of FFFFg and reinstall. then shoot at the dirt about 10 yds in front to be sure the ball comes out. You don't get much penetration with 10 gr of powder.
Now that's what I do in my friends ML - I have NEVER dry balled a load....:eek:
