I found out once that you can't ween a muzzleloader off of powder.[&:] Seemed like it took forever to get the ball out of that old caplock.

I usually just remove the nipple and drop in a few grains of FFFFg and reinstall. then shoot at the dirt about 10 yds in front to be sure the ball comes out
That's what I do alsobronko. Actually, I enjoy shootingballs with very very small charges. That's why I try to dryball at least once in every range session. :D:D

I told myself I would never dry ball a load,and I was right.....for about 15 years. I will never do it again(I hope)
