Knight or TC

I've always been a Knight customer, but have been contemplating my next purchase.
Here's what I'm leaning towards, any input???

Knight -Shadow or KP1
OR
TC -Triumph or Encore

Well you can not go wrong they are all quality guns, If I was going to be using Black Horn and sabots I would go with the Triumph , I am thrilled with mine. If I was living in one of those states with weired laws and I had to us iron sights and lead bullets without sabots or plastic I would go with the KP1. I can get conicals to shoot in the Omega or the Triumph but it takes fooling around with wads and corn meal except for the new FPB from Hornady with has shot some minute of angle groups for me. Lee

AS both are super companys , I belive I would have to go with the TC Triumph or the Knight KP1.
If you are planning on shooting the new BH209 I would Deff. go with the Triumph first.

I have used 777 pellets for several years and haven't had thechance to try Black Horn powder. I gather it's in grain form, does it burn cleaner and how does it compare in price, performance, and availablity?

I just wish there was more feedback on the new Knights, the Triumph is right in the middle of the two in price...anyone have a 3-headed coin???

Yes it is in loose powder form. I have not shot any yet but those that have swear by it now , much cleaner burn , there is alot of RR and other feedback on.

Black Horn is very clean it works bestif you do NOT swab between shots it is higher velocity for the same volume and it is non-corrosive, it is also expensive 777 pellets are the only one higher, I have shot 4 cans of it now and believe its worth it to me. Lee

I have owned both the KP1 and now the Triumph and I can tell you the Triumph is leaps and bounds better than the KP1. Combine a Triumph with a can of BH and you will soon be shooting sub MOA groups!

I own both... Knight Revolution which shoots great. The KP1 is supposed to be top notch also. This season I bought the Pro Hunter Endeavor(encore) and this ones top notch also. Both brands shoot great so its bascially up to which you like the feel of better.

I compared the encore and the KP1 when I purchesed mine. I thouhgt that the Knight felt much better in my shoulder. I couldn't get used to the encore. So I bought the KP1.

RE: Knight or TC

I would go with the Knight rifle.

I have shot a lot of TC and Knight rifles over the years. Both are quality rifles. But I honestly believe that in general the TC's have been a good bit more finicky than the Knight rifles have been. I could always get the TC's to shoot, but it took more work than the Knight's took. I also found the Knight rifles tend to shoot several loads and bullets well, vs. the TC. I can not speak to the Triumph. But I can guarantee you that the Knight rifle loads easier than the TC Encore or Omega.

I had an Omega one time that was scary accurate with the first load. But without a complete cleaning you could not get the second load down the barrel. I broke a couple of rods trying. I was so frustrated that I just got rid of the rifle. Even though it shot incredibly. Tom.

RE: Knight or TC

I shot the superglide shockwaves in both mine and the loaded just as easy in the pro hunter as they did the knight. Just a little effort and they glide down the barrel. I have yet to try the barnes sabots I have but those were a PITA to load in my Knight so thats one reason I never bothered to really try those sabots.

if anyone has trouble loading sabots, try the shockwave superglides

RE: Knight or TC

I will break it down for you right here!

If you plan on shooting BH209 powder With sabots then buy the Triumph

If it dosen't matter what powder you shoot and if you ever want to shoot CONICALS then buy a Knight Disc Extreme . or a KP1

I LOVE MY KNIGHTS BUT IF I WERE GOING TO SHOOT BH209 POWDER I WOULD HAVE TO GO WITH THE TRIUMPH.
BUT I DON'T EVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT BECAUSE I WILL NOT PAY THAT MUCH FOR 10oz OF POWDER AND I AM GOING STRaight BULLSHOP CONICALS , AND 777 powder Does ME JUST FINE Because at the end of the Year I can buy it at Wal-Mart for $10 - $15for 1lb jugs on clearence so I stock up on it then !!!

Here's what I've got to concider as well as price:

Colorado elk hunt in a year or two, conicalsonly, no sabots.
....as well as....
Midwest deer huntingw/fast follow up shots, hassle-free reloading needed.

That Accura is soundin better every minute.

RE: Knight or TC

Beast, of those 2 choices I would get the Knight. I have never had a Knight that didn't shoot conicals well. And you can't get anymore hassle free than loading a slip-fit conical such as the No Excuses or Bullshop.

RE: Knight or TC

I can't seem to find anyone around the Indy area who stock Knights.

I shoppedTC rifles this weekend and found the Triumph's breech plug removes easily, but next to impossible to install...theguys working the guns counter couldn't figure it out either.
The Encore's simplistic design is what I desire, but the price tag just keeps me at bay.....$700(+)....come on.

More than likely I'll go with the KP1 or Encore....this Accura keeps rearing it's head, is it any good???

The Outdoorsman in Greenwood is a Knight dealer. Their prices are high but I'm willing to bet they have a KP-1 you can check out.

I don't think anyone here shoots an Accura, so you'd be the guinea pig if ya got one.

I shoot an Encore, dont know anything about the knights.
I do know that the ACCURA is a SLEEK,fine looking rifle.
I like CVA guns so I would imagine it is a real shooter

beast44k 08-20-2008 01:56 PM

RE: Knight or TC

The Accura isthe CVA copy of an Encore....only about $200 cheaper.

Does anyone know if they intend to make barrels other than muzzleloaders??? That would affect the statis of FFL shipping.

RE: Knight or TC

And the problem with the ACCURA like any model or make that hits the market.. we do not know if the bugs are out of it. Many times the new models hit the market and we hear bad things about this or that feature.. Well that's because the bugs are not out. For any rifle I like to wait a year or two before I consider them. But then, I still shoot a Black Diamond XR, and White's. So buy what you want.

I like the looks of the Knights and the T/C but I think I would go with the new Triumph right now...
