Since I have family coming to visit from the big cities to the south I called a number of the larger sporting good chains, Gander Mountain, Dick's Sporting Goods, and some of the other places I know of down there. It was my hopes that they had it in stock and that I could send one of the family over there for a couple more jugs of the stuff. None of them had it, and like you said, most never heard of it. I guess I am doomed to order and pay the hazmat fee unless I can talk a friend of mine up here that runs a shooting range to stock it.

I noticed on one of the other forums that it was noted that Powder Valley had it for sale at a reasonable cost. Looks like if you were to purchase 5 containers of BH, the savings from Powder Valley should cover the hazmat fee compared to ordering from Midsouth. Not sure what freight would be from Powder Valley, but their pricing is definitely attractive.

WOW... that is a good price. If a person ordered five jugs, he'd of saved the cost of hazmat from the other places. Not to hard to go through five jugs of powder. Thanks for the link.

I just ordered six jugs from powder Valley. It came to $31.05 a jug shipped. I bought a jug at Cabelas for $40.65 with tax. I just got a new tc endeavor. The last three shot group at 100 yds was 11/16. That was with 27 shots thru the barrel since cleaning. The last round loaded just as easy as the first. Then I cleaned it up with Hoppes #9. The breach plug was really black. I thought it would be a job to get it clean. I just wiped it out with a paper towel. Didn't use any solvent. FANTASTIC stuff. I had just sold my encore to a friend. Tired of the mess, swabbing and stink.With this powder, I had to have another one. Just got some TC 200 grain today to try.

I was at bass pro in Gurney Mills Ill I bought a lb of goex 3 f for 20.00. Black gold was 34.95 for10 oz they had 3 cans on the shelf. I let it stay there I did save a bit on the goex. bye the time I pay hazmat ect I would have paid more to ship it. That black horn gold is a long ways off

I am realy thinking about selling the encore and staying with the flint and side hammers. I get all I want from them and I can shoot and cast bullets a lot cheaper.

Graf's & Sons have BlackHorn 209 for $29.99 plus shipping. So if person ordered five jugs it would not be all that bad. Especially if you picked up some other powders and made a half case or so..

As for Goex, I buy that by the case. So you pay $12.99 for a pound plus a dollar a can for its share of the hazmat. So you have about $14.00 a pound in that. Not too bad.

I have to behave for a while now. I just bought $125.00 worth of bullets and stuff. But now I have lots to shoot for the month... :D
