I got mine the hard way. Cabelas @ $195xx Since thay have stopped maling them I just had to have one while they were still available. It just came in yesterday by "brother" courrier. Drop on fit perfect. I can't wait to try it out. I have some 300 gr XTPs in .44 cal with hornady green sabots and some great plains conicals I want to try. I'm busy all week but I hope that the weather is ok on Saturday. Will post rslults asap.

I shoot that exact bullet out of mine with 90 grains of Goex 3f. Since mine is a flintlock, I have to use real black powder. The accuracy is very impressive and the balance of that little rifle is SWEET!!
Another load I am shooting is a 375 grain Buffalo Bullet SSB with 70 grains of Goex 3f. It too is great shooting and with that kind of weight would do the damage on deer just fine with that powder charge.
Good luck with your barrel. We will be watching your your range post..

Range trip postponed. My other vice has kicked in. My CFO (read Wife) has allowed me to acquire another mandolin and there's a nice Gibson sitting in Lansing screaming at me to come down and get acquainted. 4 hour road trip each way. If it sounds as good as it looks it is coming home with me but the weekend will be shot.

Oh crap - a ML shooter and a musician. That sure sounds like some sort of Adams family combination!!
Is your barrel a flinter or percussion? I'm with Cayugad. They are sweet handling. I would like to find one in perc if I can.

I definately don't have a problem as long as it isn't classical music. Nothin like a good ole fashion country song to get your toes a tappin. As for that barrel, I hope it shoots as good for you as my flinter.

The issue was shipping it to Canada. Our government has looked at the problem of drug dealers shooting each other over turf wars and other issues, whilenot caring about bystanders in the line of fire, and decided the guns are at fault for the mayhem. After all what governmentwants to admit that there's a drug problem that they can't or wont do anything about. In order to be percieved as doing something about the shootings it was much easier to bash hunters and other legitimate gun owners than to address the real problem.
