RE: CNC Turned MZ Bullet
ORIGINAL: bernieb90 Tom, as soon as I get my design updated i can send you a .DXF file that your buddy can generate his toolpaths from. I have no idea what that means, but it sure sounds impressive. Tom. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
RE: CNC Turned MZ Bullet
Those bullets looks SWEET! That is really awesome that you are able to work on making these rounds on your own - should be a lot of fun to play around with different designs. Maybe you'll give Barnes a run for their money! I think all of us would love to see a range report - see how these bullets shoot at 50 and 100 yards - I think it's already a given that their terminal performance will be excellent.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCII_Drawing_Interchange_file_format ;) Basically it's a conversion of a dimensioned 3D drawing to a language the cutting machine can use. A number of different CNC software programs use that format.
I know this because I worked on a computer for a place that does that sort of production, not because I've EVER operated a modern CNC cutting tool (but I did tell them what was wrong with one of them [:-]). :D |
