Interesting that this is the same rifle Toby talks about being so great with Blackhorn 209 in this same site. Almost makes me want to get one but have no room in any gun safes at this time. Have to sell something??? I had an early Pursuit LT which was not so great. Hopefully they have improved the trigger.

I have not shot that rifle, but think >>almost<< any rifle now days is pretty good, at least for hunting accuracy, certainly much better than they were 10 years ago. I was not aware that Toby Bridges used it in his Blackhorn shooting. I thought he was back at Knight after his Savage rif. Chap

Not sure why the address will not automatically go but guess you may have to type it in. Sorry, I added it in another site and it worked OK. UPDATE: I figured it out, forgot one of the forward slashes. Now it works.

Yep, same rifle. I saw a post where someone was shooting the 200g SW with 120g of BlackHorn and getting 2404 fps thru his chrony. Those are savage smokeless speeds. Nice rifle for shooting the .45.

Would the 200g bullet even hold together?

It is the concensus on < 75 yard shot that they would not, they would fragement, however dead deer since you usually get penetration into the vitals, that is with a 200g .40 ShockWave, however you could shoot a 195g Barnes and then it wouldn't.

That's a great price! However, I'd check on the rate of twist with Tradition's .45 cal rifles. I know their .45 cal rifles used to be 1 in 20" rate of twist, which is very finicky with what types of rounds it will shoot well. I don't know if they've changed it to a more reasonable 1 in 28" or so rate of twist by now or not. Tradition's .50 cal rifles all have a suitable rate of twist, so it's not an issue with them. Check it out!
