Default Hope GM can help me

I just sent an email to Kerry at GM Barrels. I got my .45 LRH percussion barrel in. Noticed at the range today that the fiber optic in the front sight is broken in 2 places. Also I can't get her sighted in. I have the rear sight as low as I can get it and I am still 6" high at 75 yds. I'm shooting a 230 gr Maxiball with 70 gr of Pyrodex. I tried increasing the charge ant that made things even wors. I really don't want to go lower than 70 gr. in the charge. The barrel is grouping well - about 2" at 75 yds but not where I want it. I need a higher front sight.

Strange that it is shooting that high. I will be interested in seeing what they have to say. 2 inch groups at 75 yards with open sights is very good shooting.... keep us posted.

Dave - that's what I am thinking too. I only want to use this barrel to plink with and for fall turkey. So especially for turkey I want it dead nuts on. I was thinking of maybe going with a lighter bullet like maybe a 200 gr .452 cast handgun bullet. That should bring the POI down some.
I thought I had it right today. I set the target at 25 yds and first shot hit almost the center of the 3" bull. So I moved the target out to 50 yds and it was hitting about 2 1/2" high and maybe 1" left. But when I put the target out at 75 yds I couldn't believe it. At least 6" high and about 1 1/2" left. The left and right I'm not worried about I have plenty of adjustment, its that darn height.

Called GM this morning and spoke with Kerry. She is going to send me a new set of sights. If that doesn't work she told me to call her back and we would make arrangements to have the barrel sent back and replaced.

Yeah, me too. I may not be as good a customer as you Dave. I only got 4 barrels off of them so far.

I think it has nothing to do with the number of barrels you own.. they treat everyone I have ever talked to with excellent customer service.. Four barrels.. hey you're doing real well

Well I'm happy to report that I got the new sights today. With the impending rain this weekend I installed them and headed to the range. Set the target up at 25 yds. First shot hit 1" low of the bull at 6:00. Moved the target out to 50 yds and hit the edge of the bull at 4:00.
OK - I'm in business. I put up a new target and moved it out to 75 yds and put 3 bullets into about 2" right about 5:00. Slide the rear sight up a tad and put the next 2 into the 3" bull. Then it started to drizzle. But at least I know its on.
When I got home the first thing I did was send a nice email to Kerry and thanked her for the quick courteous customer service.
