The UPS man brought me this...

AS I mentioned in an earlier post, while shooting in the rain today the UPS man brought me another package. Well this is it. A brand new Knight TK 2000 12 gauge shotgun with the extra full turkey choke. I always wanted one and the deal I got on this one I could not pass it up. So now I have to work a load up and then go turkey hunting.
How I ended up with this shotgun I still can not believe I was that lucky, but it is here and I am going to shoot it. I want to mount a RED DOT on this shotgun so I still have to get some bases as I have a RED DOT laying around the house. According to the person I talk to a lot at Knight Rifles.. Jeff, he said load 100 grains of powder 2f, then a turkey shot cup and a measure of shot from a second shot cup that shoudl equal, 2-1/2 ounces of #5 shot and an over the shot card. He told me this would be good for an easy 40 yards. I never shot a turkey that far away. I have always waited for them to get with in 25 yards. So now I have a couple of these black powder shotguns (three of them actually) and that's enough of them...
I will see what kind of pattern it throws this weekend if I can sneak out on the company. Maybe if they take a nap I can go out in the yard and shoot... After all, why should they sleep and not me..

You will love this gun. I got the same gun in camo and this is what I shoot.

I get great results when the card is packed tight on the shot, it almost forms patterns like a slug shot, extremely tight for a shotgun. Patterns were loose for the first 30 shots but after a good shooting it only gets better. Reach out and tag one.

Very nice gun Dave, I also have the same one in camo, doesn't pattern quite as good as my 12 ga. 3.5 but I only shot it about a dozen times. I seem to get the best pattern by mixing 1.25 oz. no.6, and 1.25 oz. no. 5 with 100 gr. APP 2f. The tubes that Lane Nebraska is selling on e-bay now really work good for 2.25 to 2.5 oz. of shot. Like Gotbuck said, hang on to the forearm, because it really is light in the front.
Just took a ride around the block, 20 turkeys out in the field and 8 were strutting. A couple weeks and I get to see if we will be having turkey breasts. Good luck with the gun !!!!!!!
