RE: The UPS man brought me this...

Chap I am looking forward to sighting it in. My friend told me to shoot about 20 rounds of standard smaller loads first to get used to the trigger and to break the barrel in. Why it should need to be broke in I have no idea. He is an old school black powder shooter so maybe he is remembering his old days when we used to shoot together.

Johnny that UPS man is just so nice to me.. he always bring me things. Of course it helps being the only one livingin the house.. :D

Dave are you on a first name bases with the driver? ;)

Corey, you must mean.. Mike. Yes he knows me, always has a cookie for the old dog, he even carries my packages out back if I am on the range. He is a great UPS driver. That's why when I hear these horror stories of the UPS with some of the other members, I wonder how I got so lucky. My nemesis is the Federal Express driver. I have actually refused to purchase when they told me they shipped Federal Express.

dphobby & Gotbuck.... my friend who hunts turkey only with his TK 2000 with a RED DOT has warned me of the same thing. He said the first time you pull the trigger, don't even aim it, just hang on and see how you like the ride. He has actually duck hunted with his also, and said he came in from a day of hunting and was black and blue all through his shoulder. So they must have some kick. I wonder if one of them sims recoil pads would take the bite out of it. Although I am not a recoil sensative type person for the most part. I can take a pretty good hit.

RE: The UPS man brought me this...

I guess I should explain why I got this new shotgun when I just bought a new one a couple weeks ago. Well I actually got rid of a gun to get this gun. I was contacted by a person that wanted the Knight MK86 shotgun a lot more then I did. I was kind of relieved because while it was a real nice gun, the way it broke down was not something I liked. You see, the MK86 was Knights first attempt at a rifle that could be both a shotgun and a rifle. On the top of the receiver was two allen screws. You removed them, and then the barrel sides forward out of the receiver. You could then slide a rifle barrel in there to replace the shotgun, which was the goal of the rifle at the time to make it more versatile. You simply line up some marks, slide the barrel back into the receiver and then put in them little screws (which I was sure I was going to loose the first time out).

The problem with the shotgun having two allen screws on top of the receiver is.. try and mount a scope or RED DOTand then get the barrel off. You would have to go with quick release mounts and I was not too sure if I could even get bases for that MK86 anymore. So a person saw my post and contacted me. He wanted to know what condition the MK86 was in, and I told him it had never been fired. Well now he was VERY INTERESTED. He asked if it had the turkey choke and I told him it did. He then wanted to buy it from me and I told him, no not interested. That it was going to be my turkey shotgun. He was not finished with me.. he then asked if I would trade it for a brand new TK 2000 .

The TK 2000 is easy to get bases for, has a 209 ignition and will shoot with or without the red primer discs, has a turkey choke on it, fiber optic sights, and is basically the new version of the one I was getting rid of. I never asked him why he wanted that MK 86 so bad. I told him I would trade him even up. So I mailed him my new MK 86 and he mailed me a new TK 2000..

Now I feel better. I got rid of a gun and got a gun. That means, I am not collecting, but Trading...

So now I have to work up a load for this new shotgun (100 grains 2f powder, a Knight shot wad cup, 2-1/2 ounces of #5 shot, and an over the shot wad) which the person told me what shoots best out of them.. and sneak out in the woods real soon, sit in my blind and .. make sure I do not miss my one chance and shoot me a turkey if possible...

Dave I think you and the UPS man have a thing going on. I guess every time he has a gun box in his truck he drops it off at your place.

I guess I am lucky too. all the drivers of all the shippers are pretty good around here. if no one is home they put stuff in the car port some one always finds it.
