Default Recent Powerbelt tests

Did these a few days ago.

Top 3 - 80g Pyro Select "P-S"
Bottom 2-90G P-S
Next Picture, 100g P-S

Distance-71 yards, 295 grain Powerbelt HP.

Previous testing below was at 58 yards. Huge difference what 13 yards does on this bullet with stiff charges.
100PS
90PS
80PS

WOW... that is a big difference.. Maybe that is why some people have them splatter when they get a close shot. Too much powder.. Good test there.

Nice post & tests. It will be good to direct people to look at your tests when they're wondering why they lost a deer shot at 30 yards with 150 grains of powder. I think you're on your way to conclusively proving that powerbelts work very well when used PROPERLY.

Too badPB doesn't make the info showing their limitations readily available.
Course that would make it a lot harder to sell a basic lead conical dressed pretty for over a buck apiece.

Now we got the old FG back, great tests. Can you do a Summary "White Paper" of all your testing
something like, at the following yardages and charges your PB starts to fragment:

30 yard 80g

50 yards 90g

100 yards 100g

Great info on the PB. Chap

Chap, I have an area on my forum now "currently empty" that i will post the safe max charges to use for certain yardage. With the 100 PS charge and the 295 HP, If a deer is 60 yards away, put it through the lungs. I base my stuff on Shoulder shots, as i like to punch it through the heart and bleed them out quickly. But a 295 hp with 80 grains PS i would feel very confident with a shoulder shot at say 20or 30 yards on out to 150 yards. Maybe a little longer if i had a scoped muzzy.

Stevebny, The copper is there to keep leading down. Try a pack of all lead powerbelts and you'd be kissing powerbelts feet for offering the copper series.
I still have a bunch of lead build up in my mountain stalker thanks to those 295 AT lead powerbelts. Thanks a lot corey![:@] j/k!

BTW, That new conical hornady has coming out is nothing more than a dressed up lead minnie ball with a plastic tip.

The 295 AT powerbelt will perform great with 40 yards with 90g RS, my dad and brother have taken quite a few that just dropped in their tracks with a bullet through the lungs, and complete pass through. I just prefer the shoulder shots as it does one heck of a job on putting them down fast.

I shoot all lead conical - Bullshop and NE - at velocities they are designed for and have been for years.

They do everything a PB does and can be sized to fit the individual bores of my different rifles.

All that for a cost of 25 to 30 cents each.

PB's will rot away before their feet see my lips
