If you are going to cover th walls with wir I would use 1/4 incg rabbit wire they wont get throught that. Mink can get through chicken wire.

Yea those box traps work great. I've caught everything from coons, possums and even a golden retriever!

And in the middle of a winter snow storm a few years back. Haven't seen that dog since...

Judging by the cages handle and assuming thats 4 inches it puts that cridder about 15 inches long a good sized chicken fed mink. Strange it is not white for this time of year. In Michigan and in the summer I see a lot of dark brown mink around the trout streams. Our little sized wesals turn white for winter and I have not yet seen a mink in winter yet. Seen a lot of Ontario pine martins but they are endangered and considered nonexsistant in the lower pennisula. Be careful if you have martins in NY.

If they turn white in winter those are Ermine. They are not very big. A squirrel sized one would be large.
