RE: bullet/sabot ?
Chap
I still have a partial box of these 180 grain Gold Dots. I have not been able to get them to shoot accurately from any of the inlines. I have not tried them in a 1/48 though - maybe they would shoot OK there. I have sent 2 or three people some of these bullets also and they were unable to achieve any consistent accuracy with them either. I am thinking they are just to stubby short. |

RE: bullet/sabot ?
Thanks for the responses. I think I'll try some 200gr xtp's. Anybody use the knight sabots(brown 45/40)? I need to order some other stuff from natchezss.com and that is all they have. I picked up a can of 777 FFG on clearance the other day. I also have some Pyrodex P FFF. Would most of you recommend the 777?

RE: bullet/sabot ?
I'd recommend 777 - I use it because it is less corrosive than Pyrodex or black powder. Higher velocities too. Only downside is some people have problems with the dreaded "crud ring" that can form inside the barrel. If you swab the barrel between shots though (I do) this isn't an issue.

RE: bullet/sabot ?
According to my program 40 would be ideal so if you was to hit the right harmonics you would have a better chane than with 1-28. My best guess would be that it would take a load of at least 90-777 to get up enough spin to stablize them maybe more. My System One with 1-38 will litarlly stack them with 140 gr RS. Lee
P.S. I hope I still have your e-mail right I tried to send you that program, thought you might enjoy it. |
