sent T/C an email on my new englander
I am going to wait till monday for a reply from T/C then I will call them. basicly I am worried about the rear sight. and asked about the warraty.

RE: sent T/C an email on my new englander
If the rear sight is loose, there are two screws that hold the bottom base of the rear sight to the barrel. If you take the center screw out of the adjustable model of sight, there is a spring under that inside blade and the back part of it is pinned to the base of the sight. Careful you do not loose the small spring. It fits into two small indentations on the two parts of the sights. You can drive the pin out of the back of the sight and then removing that center screw the inside part will come out and give you access to the two screws that lock the base to the barrel. Sometimes, those screws will come loose or even rust and break off. You then have to contact T/C and they will give you some new screws. If you feel competent, take the rear sight apart and check the screws inside that hold the base tothe barrel. I just recently had to do that to a Renegade because one of the screws actually rusted off. I never take the rear sights apart. Over the past twenty years, that one back screw finally broke and the sight would not stay tight.

kinda tough for me right now to do any work like that. lol
not worried about loosing any springs. got what of not loosing small things. I try again later. |
RE: sent T/C an email on my new englander
thank cayugad,
got the sight off. looks like both mounting screws where replaced already, looked new. but the little spring is rusted. fixxed the elevation I had problem moving it. the blade on the rear sight is loose, know how to fix that? |
RE: sent T/C an email on my new englander
The rear sight blade works on a set screw to the side. Be sure that screw is tight. If we are talking an adjustable sight. The top screw changes the elevation and the side screw if loose, the blade will move back and fourth. If it is too loose, paint the threads with finger nail polish and then put it back in place. When the finger nail dries, it will keep the screw from backing out.

RE: sent T/C an email on my new englander
Very unusuall for TC not to respond. I have had 2 issues with TC and they were solved in a day. Neither were a problem but the fact they responded so quick satisfied me 100%.

RE: sent T/C an email on my new englander
I figuring on them having a back log emails. I may just call them monday anyway. just to check something.
|
RE: sent T/C an email on my new englander
took a week for them to answer my email. Took 4 days to get through on the phone.
|
RE: sent T/C an email on my new englander
Sent them an email a few weeks ago concerning a broken stock (my fault it was broken). Aftera week and no response I re-sent the email adding that it had been a week with no response. I got an email the next day saying "send the stock back and we will replace it". I sent it out the same day!
The next day I got an email from a different person saying "send it back and we will look at it and decide what to do". Sure glad I included a copy of the email saying "we will replace it" with the stock. Haven't got anything back from them yet, but I did get a postcard saying it had been received. |
RE: sent T/C an email on my new englander
I have T/C answer my phone calls and emails.. I really do not understand the problem the rest of you face. They answered my emails twice and sent me parts within days.. I guess they like me. :D

I sent a bbl back to t/c the beginning or Jan. after 2 weeks I finally got a card saying they got my bbl. That was Jan 21st. Havent heard anything so I called them yesterday. Said they havent sent it through inspection yet and it would be another 4 weeks. Good thing I dont need it soon. Not very happy about it but I'll wait and see what they will do.

They always tell you four to six weeks and then it shows up about two weeks later. I think they do that because it gives them a little breathing room for when the shop gets too busy.

RE: sent T/C an email on my new englander
Sounds like you've dealt with T/C a bit in the past. I've never owned T/C, ...don't plan on it in the near future.
I have 2 MLs. A Lyman Trade Rifle, which I will never part with, and a Knight KRB, which I am growing very fond of.;) I contacted Lyman about a question about the Trade Rifle and was answered right away. I contacted Knight about a question on scoping the KRB and was answered the next day. Maybe they are both smaller than T/C, and have less to deal with on a daily basis. |
